Este dossier busca interrogar lo queer (como teoría y práctica política, que ha surgido como una contestación y resistencia a las políticas de identidad, particularmente a las identidades basadas en la reivindicación del “orgullo gay”) en su intersección con lo racial, lo étnico y la clase que mira las categorías como objetos dentro de una historicidad. Pensamos que estas múltiples intersecciones de lo queer pueden tornar aún más visible la maleabilidad de categorías y la creatividad política en donde lo queer es producido. Producción que ha sido utilizada además, como una forma de ubicarse en los debates sobre sexualidades y género, observando tanto sus “márgenes” como sus normas y hegemonías...

La Habana elegante (ahora peer-review) -Call for papers
Convocatoria La Habana Elegante está preparando el número correspondiente a Septiembre de 2009. Invitamos a colegas de la academia y/o a escritores a enviarnos sus propuestas de artículos y/o de dossier. Los artículos deben ser inéditos y de alto valor académico y o literario. Estamos particularmente interesados en artículos que por su originalidad y creatividad constituyan verdaderas aportaciones al campo de los estudios cubanos, caribeños, latinoamericanos, trasatlánticos y de estética.
Para la edición de septiembre, con la que se inicia la transformación de la revista en un peer-reviewed journal, recibiremos artículos sobre: todos los autores y períodos literarios y culturales,el modernismo hispanoamericano,estética (aún si no caen dentro del campo de los estudios latinoamericanos) También aceptamos propuestas de reseña. Tanto los autores como las editoriales pueden enviarnos sus libros.
El plazo para el envío de artículos concluye el 30 de junio de 2009. Los mismos se enviarán como attachment a la siguiente dirección: fmoran@smu.edu

La Habana Elegante’s next issue will be available in September, 2009. We invite our colleagues and writers to contribute with their academic and/or literary essays. We also welcome proposals for dossiers. All articles must be unpublished, and must meet a high academic and/or literary standard. We are particularly interested in articles that, because of their originality and creativity, will significantly contribute to their respective fields.
With September’s edition, La Habana Elegante will become a peer-reviewed academic journal. We will consider for publication in this issue: All authors and topics from all literary and cultural periods,Articles specifically dealing with Spanish American modernismo,Articles on aesthetic issues, even if they do not fall within the field of Latin American studies.
We accept books for review in our journal. Authors and publishing houses as well are invited to submit their works. Please, send them to the following address:
